I Do

Written by: Lindy LaFontaine

Here I lie alone
Soon I will become one with everything in the universe
Why this always was
Was and always is
Why this bitter kiss never moves me to goodbye

It holds me like a curse
It makes me wonder why I do
and then there's you
You make it even worse
You make me want to cry and I do

Holding on alone
It's colder every day in every way in my universe
Looking out at love
Oblivion looking in
It's how it's always been so I don't ever try

It holds me like a curse
It makes me wonder why I do
and then there's you
You make it even worse
You make me want to cry and I do

I assanu maludry
Will a kiss to make you fly
Searching for the reason why
In all the times you said goodbye
I had a dream that made me cry
Searching for the reason why

Sunday

Written by: Lindy LaFontaine

Stormy the rain cloud called that day. He said "Show me your sunshine. Come out and play". Today I can't join you, but why don't you stay. Turn off the daylight, make it pour down today.

It started raining, the light started to fade. Then I saw a rainbow the sun must have made. But Stormy took over, the sun was afraid. The sky was now darker, the sun had decayed.

And it's mine, all mine. And I'm trying to pass the time. Everything's fine, just fine. I'm just trying to pass the time.

It's raining, it's pouring. I'm inspired today. With thunder and lightening everyone went away. But Stormy and I, we're different that way. When seasons are changing, I have so much to say.

You never tried to see through my silver silhouette. And you always end up with what you get. Stop to start the show and shoot the breeze but let it blow. And I could teach you how to fly...

I Might Not Love You

Written by: Lindy LaFontaine

The truth is I never meant to leave but I felt that I had to.
Cause the blowing of the leaves from your house that I heard from your bedroom, in the middle of the night said "I might not love you".
So I left you in the house and I kept on going.

Seal me in a town to wander around streets we drive on the greyhound.
Every town's the same, every town's the same.

Bad dream, nice day
Wish you could see things my way.
Nice dream, I won't stay
Cause I'm going all the way to Africa.

So what, so I'm leaving on a plane and I left on a Tuesday.
And I'm sitting by a man looking down through the clouds at the ocean.
He was telling me about how his wife had left him.
He was on his way to Spain but I kept on going.

Seal me in a town to wander around. The skies we fly will touch the ground...till the next plane.
Cause every town's the same.

Bad dream, nice day
Wish you could see things my way
Nice dream, I won't stay
Cause I'm going all the way to Africa.

Seal me in a town to wander around the streets we drive on the greyhound.
Every town's the same, every town's the same
Seal me in a town to wander around. The skies we fly will touch the ground...till the next plane.
Cause every town's the same.

Bad dream, nice day
Wish you could see things my way
Nice dream, I won't stay
Cause I'm going all the way to Africa.

Free to Breathe

Written by: Lindy LaFontaine

Every day passing by is overdue
Is there a reason why I should stay with you
If you can't keep a lie, you can't keep the truth
And you know that's the way, it must be

So I wake to the water
And I wake to the sun
I don't want to die
So I'm getting high

I will call on the world and say I'm on your side
If you let me go by, I will never return and be free to breathe.

As the ocean is wide it will never grow
If I stay by your side, I will never know
What could bring in the tide of my lunar glow
And I know this is how I will see

So I wake to the water
And I wake to the sun
Time is going by
And I'm getting high

I will call on the world and say I'm by your side
I will call on the world, I will swallow my pride
If you let me go by I may never return and be free...to breathe.

I'll be crawling, walking slowing
standing up, slowly approaching the sea
Then I'll stand and follow closely
to the sound of maybe, who I used to be
Then I'll follow it and get my feet wet
swimming to a terrifying flee
But in all my life I never scared myself
the way that I did running

Hanging On

Written by: Lindy LaFontaine

And I keep hanging on to thoughts and visions of you
And they're still going strong
You had one way eyes that died the day I looked away
Now I want you but there's nothing I can do or say
To make you stay

In the morning sun I feel like you're beside me
But when the day is done I try to find that part of me that wants to be alone
But all I wanna do is find you to show you I can't make it home
Without you

I slowly go,
I turn around,
I wonder if you are watching me

Now the moment's gone
Full of vivid pictures
I can't tell right from wrong
Or fantasy from fiction and I know
One more day is all I really need to go completely insane
Yet I refrain

And I silently ride
The dead-end road
I wonder if you are following me

I realize nothing is definitive
I compromise my ability to forgive
Every day I gain a little part of me
Every day something new occurs to me
I let you go and now honestly I understand
Now I know just how much you were in demand
Every day I lose a little part of me
Every day something new occurs to me

Why

Written by: Lindy LaFontaine

You made me lie to you
You were perfect for me you were beautiful, and you knew

You made me high,
I closed my eyes

I'd never felt this afraid of myself before
So I shut you right out of myself till I couldn't feel anymore

I closed my eyes,
I told you lies

I've been pulling away from you baby and,
I've been building these walls all around us and,
I've been waiting for so long to understand...

Why I never looked in your eyes
Why these thoughts just terrify me
I loved you but didn't know why

Left in the love I created I let you let me go
It took me till now just to notice I left you a long time ago

I closed my eyes,
I told you lies

Cause you couldn't see me from where you stand
I could have been right there at your command
And it's taken me so long to understand

Why I never looked in your eyes
Why these thoughts just terrify me
I loved you but didn't know why

One time I was told to never ask why
Then I didn't know that it would change my life
And now I know I was wrong
You said that I wasn't very nice to you
And I, I saw everything I put you through
Then one day I found out why

Cause you couldn't see me from where you stand
I could have been right there at your command
And it's taken me so long to understand...

The Door

Written by: Lindy LaFontaine

Show me the door
You can show yourself to the door
Crawl in and out of my corner
Play with me

Show me the door
You can show yourself to the door
Crawl in and out of my corner
Do you remember my corner
Play with me

These are the words that you manipulate, yeah when I say them

The fists you always fail to throw and the punches that you block
Playing with a paper person with some scissors and a rock
Baby, please. You don't wanna play with me

Show me once more
You can throw yourself to the floor
What does it really matter to you
Well, I do

Keep it killing me slowly to never let me go la de da de
Sleep in fields of rusted dreaming, screaming la de da de da de

These are the words only sophisticated when I say them
